On the main concourse of Citizens Business Bank Arena a tribute to the historic California Jam concerts includes a display of photos, newspaper articles and memorabilia. The land where Citizens Business Bank Arena was built in 2008 was the former Ontario Motor Speedway where two mega concerts occurred in 1974 (Cal Jam 1) and 1978 (Cal Jam II). Over 250,000 music fans gather at each show for a stellar line up of artists including The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Santana, just to name a few.
On April 19, 2017, the City of Ontario received the Outstanding Achievement in Local Government Innovation Award for the submission “We’re M.A.D.” (Making A Difference). Richard Montanez was a janitor at the Frito-Lay plant in Rancho Cucamonga, California. At a recent graduation ceremony at Citizens Business Bank Arena he shared his story with the graduating class of Chaffey College. Montañez recalled grabbing corn from the elote man. Biting into the corn, with all the fixings, he had his revelation. “That looks like a Cheeto. What if I put chili on a Cheeto?’ ” he said.
He and his wife made chili, and he garnished his Cheetos. Next thing he knows, he’s calling the CEO and pitching his idea. The CEO tells him he’ll see him in two weeks.

WallyPark is now offering all-electric shuttle bus service from its off-site parking location to catch a flight at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) – the first such service in the country. Owned by the L&R Group of Companies, WallyPark purchased 16 Zero Emissions Utility Shuttle (ZEUS) buses for its Los Angeles facility as part of a 50-unit order from Phoenix Motor Cars, an Ontario, Calif.-based developer of electric vehicles for the fleet market. “We are pleased to partner with Phoenix Motor Cars as we electrify our fleet of buses.

TOURISM REPORT - ONE YEAR LATER May 2016 – May 2017 YTD VISITOR COUNT Over the first 12 months, approximately 133,679 visitors have visited the CA Welcome Center in the Fashion Alley at Ontario Mills. During the first two months of operation, staff conducted manual counts until the installation of the state-of-the art counting sensors.
In just one year, the number of visitors to Ontario’s CA Welcome Center is second only to the CA Welcome Center at Pier 39 in San Francisco.
